Services for Dorothy Juanita Watkins Little of BridgeportCommunity in Simpson County are were 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 30, atPleasant Hill Baptist Church in Simpson County with burial in thechurch cemetery. Stringer Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.
Mrs. Little, 83, died Aug. 28, 2003, in Hazlehurst. She was bornin Rankin County on June 20, 1920, to Susie Etta Barlow and EarlBurton Watkins.
She was an elementary school teacher and owner of Pearl RiverCountry Store. She also served as District Four Supervisor forSimpson County, and worked for the Mississippi Library Commissionand Mississippi State Department of Welfare. She enjoyed spendingtime with her family, reading, needlework, gardening andcelebrating Christmas with uniquely-themed Christmas trees in everyroom. She grew up in Harrisville, and spent her entire adult lifein the Bridgeport community.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, RobertLeslie Little; and her sisters, Betty Sue Watkins, Burnell WatkinsHilton and Melba Louise Watkins Lewis.
Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Wilda Nell LittleThibodeaux of Hazlehurst, Bettye Kayron Little Semple of Brandon,Peggye Sue Little Berry and husband, Ted, of Crystal Springs, andCherry Leslie Little Jones and husband, Mims Ray, of Magee; hersister, Margie Watkins Rogers; her brother, Earl Barlow Watkins ofPossum Hollow; her grandchildren and their spouses, Rhonda BerryReeves and husband, Sonny, Jeffrey Leslie Thibodeaux, Thomas EugeneHolmes, Shayla Zann Thibodeaux, Kurtlon Scot Berry, Sherra SempleShearer and husband, Steve, Kelley Mitchell Berry, Joseph HallPitts and wife, Sarah, Jennifer Jones Reed, Joshua Ted Berry, JasonTodd Jones and wife, April, Jeremy Scott Jones and Jonathan WatkinsBerry; her great-grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Ashley Reed,Robert Reed, Conner Shearer, Justin Jones, Hayden Jones and LoganJones; and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers were her grandsons and family friend, DavidBrunt.
