Michael Calvin Blue

Mr. Michael Calvin Blue was born Jan. 21, 1970 in Jackson, to Kathy Blue and the late Garland Miller. He departed this life on April 18, 2013 at the early age of 43 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood.
He attended Brookhaven High School, where he was an outstanding football player.
He is preceded in death by his father, granddaughter, A’Keira Hooks, and uncle, Shelton Blue Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Kathy Blue, of Brookhaven; two daughters, Ariconshey Hooks, of Brookhaven, and Michala McClain, of South Carolina; two sons, Kasey Blue and Michael “Mike Mike” Blue Jr., of Greenville, S.C.; grandson, Aquarius Hooks and granddaughter, Aquarianna Hooks, both of Brookhaven; two sisters, Joan Blue and Marlo Blue; three brothers, Sammie Blue, and wife, Gayle, Anthony Blue and James Blue, and wife, Laceta, all of Brookhaven; four aunts, Coleen Sanders, of Clinton, Shelia Williams, of Vicksburg, Joyce Rice and husband, Larry, and Sharon Byther, of Brookhaven; four uncles, Dennis Williams, and wife, Patsy, Michael Williams, Frankie Williams and Kenneth Williams, all of Brookhaven; three great-uncles, Abe Blue Jr., Richard Vance and Bobby Vance; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at New Vision Church, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 1 until 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with family hour from 7:30 until 8:30.
