Funeral services for Willie Mae Owens Miller of Oakland, Calif., formerly of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, at Damascus M.B. Church, with burial in Ebenezer Church Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home, with family hour from 6 until 7.

Mrs. Miller, 83, died April 11, 2013 in Oakland, Calif. She was born on Dec. 1, 1929, to Hollis and Mattie (Beard) Owens.

She was reared in the Loyd Star Community in Lincoln County. She was a 1949 graduate of Alexander High School in Brookhaven.

She was married to the late James Miller and to this union, 10 children were born: Kelvin Ray, James Bruce and Ray Todd, deceased; and cherishing their mother’s memories are Vivian, Virginia, Melody, Sharon, Mattie, Raymond and Tracy. She had 29 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many other realties and friends.
