Donny Ray Wilson, of Brookhaven, and Leslie Bland Wilson, of Hazlehurst, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Brooke Wilson, of Hazlehurst, to Sam Ballard, of Brookhaven.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy LaRon Ballard.

She is the granddaughter of Jewel Bland, of Brookhaven, Betty Bland, of Mize, the late Bennie Bland, of Mize, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Paisano, of Hazlehurst, the late Mr. Arthur Wilson, of Mize, and the late Kathleen Wilson, of Forrest.

He is the grandson of Kay Gatlin, of Brookhaven, the late Jerry Orr, of Brookhaven, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Ballard, of Brookhaven.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Copiah Academy and the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she received a degree in nursing. She is currently employed with Southwest Regional Medical Center and UMMC’s Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children as a registered nurse.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Brookhaven High School and Mississippi State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in forestry. He is currently employed with Weyerhaeuser Company.

The couple will exchange vows Saturday, May 21, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst. A reception will follow at Old Wesson School.
