At approximately 3:47 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop M responded to a crash on Hwy. 48 in Walthall County, according to Cpl. Craig James.

A 2022 Dodge Challenger, driven by 24-year-old Jehdiel Harrell of Tylertown, was traveling east on Hwy. 48 when it left the roadway, colliding with a guardrail and a tree. Harrell suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
