Read Across America: Special guest visits Loyd Star

LOYD STAR — A classroom of first graders listened attentively as Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing read “The very lonely firefly,” by Eric Carle. The lights went off as Rushing neared the end illuminating little flashing dots of fire flies to the amusement of the students.
