A long-time historian and genealogist has posthumously donated her work to Lincoln County’s historical museum.
“I have delivered the Dora Jay Turner Warren Collection of Genealogy and History to the Lincoln County Historical and Genealogical Society’s Museum in Brookhaven,” said Glen Foster, to whom the collection was donated by Warren’s grandson.
Warren was an avid collector of genealogical and historic information and documents. She also worked on many family trees.
“I know this dedicated group will take good care of her work. I am sure they could use volunteers to help categorize the many books of cemeteries, family bibles, family trees and more. Some of the names I have noticed are Alford, Knight, Bailey, Easterling, Wilson, Campbell, Turner. Most are of Copiah and Lincoln County,” Foster said.
The collection has many old photos without names and certainly could be relatives of people in the area.
