Debra and John Thomas, of Meadville, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Julie Causey, of Meadville, to Jake Buckels.

He is the son of Debbie and Ricky Buckles, of McCall Creek..

She is the granddaughter of the late Bennie Jim “BJ” and Edith Nell Freeman, of Knoxville, the late Aline Vernie Thomas Herndon, the late John Baptist Thomas, and the late Elmer Thomas Herndon.

He is the grandson of the late Paul Gill, Dorris Louis Gill, of Brookhaven, the late Ray Buckels, Theda Rae Kirkland and James Kirkland, of McCall Creek.

The bride-elect is currently employed with McGehee, McGehee & Torrey in Meadville.

The prospective groom is the owner of Buckels Timber Company, LLC.

The couple will exchange vows at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 13600 Highway 84 East, Brookhaven. A reception will follow at Middle Fork Country Club in Meadville.

All friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.
