Brookhaven High alum Lafollette “Folllie” Bogan only played one season of college basketball at Milligan University in Elizabethton, Tennessee, but it was a year to remember for the former Daily Leader All-Area MVP.

Bogan led the Buffaloes in scoring and was named Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Player of the Year.

His latest and largest honor was recently being tabbed as an NAIA Third Team All-American. A five-time selection as AAC player of the week, Bogan finished seventh in the NAIA with a 23.3 points per game scoring average. On a team without much size, the 6-foot-4 Bogan also pulled down 6.8 rebounds per game.

His biggest game of the season was a 38-point showing against Union University, the eventual AAC regular season champs. Bogan scored over 20 points in all but seven games during the season and topped the 30-point mark on six different occasions.

Bogan averaged 21.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for former BHS head coach Marcus Flippin while earning MVP honors as a senior in 2019.

After leading BHS to the MHSAA 5A playoffs, Bogan signed to play at Southwest Mississippi Community College, where he initially redshirted to start his career.

After playing one season in Summit, he then transferred to Lees-McRae College, an NCAA Division II program located in Banner Elk, North Carolina before transferring to play his final season at Milligan.

Bogan is the son of Shasta Hill.
