Senior Harlan Brewer was joined this week by his parents at Wesson Attendance Center for a ceremony where the golfer inked his letter-of-intent to play next year for Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
Brewer has also played soccer for Wesson during his high school career and was a soccer captain as a senior.
He’s made four state championship tournament appearances as a member of the golf team at Wesson. Co-Lin has one Wesson alum on its 2023 roster in sophomore Chandler Byrd.
The Wolves are under the direction of coach Allen Kent recently finished in third place in an event hosted by Pearl River CC.
“We are really excited to have Harlan join our program,” said Kent. “He’s got a solid all-around game and can post some very good scores. He’s anchored Wesson’s team for several years now.”
Kent has also recently signed Oscar Toreld of Sweden and Jamie Hernandez of Spain. He anticipates signing another player from Spain in the near future.
Co-Lin has two players from Spain on the current roster in Alex Navarro and Navid Mousavi.
“Harlan is a local product who has yet to reach his full potential,” said Kent. “We’re looking forward to seeing him thrive by focusing only on golf. He’s also a great student and well-liked among his peers.”
