Coaches Kevin Carrion and Jordan Baker with Challenger Sports pose with some of their smallest soccer campers this week at the Hansel King Sports Complex. The annual British Soccer Camp put on by Challenger is a fundamentals based camp that takes place in Brookhaven each Summer.
The pair of coaches will be in Columbus, Ohio, next week leading a camp as they cross the country over the next few months going from camp to camp. Carrion is a native of Puerto Rico who played collegiately as a goalkeeper for Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee. Baker also came to the US as a soccer player, a native of South Africa, he previously suited up at the University of Charleston in West Virginia.
“We’ve had 35 campers this week,” said Baker. “We’ve tried to teach the kids some skills they can use and have some fun as well. It’s been a great week.”
