Wesson wide receiver Chris Davis hauls in a catch and fights off a defender Monday at practice. The Cobras and coach Jeremy Loy wrap up their spring practice schedule Saturday with a jamboree game. Wesson travels to Hattiesburg to play Lumberton in M.M. Roberts Stadium on the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi. The Cobras and Panthers play at 10 a.m. Wesson is coming off a 4-6 season and moving down to Region 7-2A after a six year run as one of the smallest 3A schools in the state. “It’s been a good spring period,” said Loy. “We’ve been like a roller coaster at times, up and down. Replacing our offensive line has been our biggest focus. We’ve got some talent coming back in our skill spots, but we’ll be young upfront on offense. Defensively we’ve got some speed. The boys have worked hard and they’re ready to play somebody else.”
