The Stringer Red Devils are back in the MHSAA 1A championship series for a second consecutive year after getting a semifinal sweep over the Enterprise Yellow Jackets.
Stringer (24-3) won 8-0 at home on Wednesday and then closed the series out at EAC on Thursday with a 16-1 victory.
Enterprise (16-13) and coach Alicia Smith were making the first semifinal appearance in program history.
The Jackets were without seventh grader Rainee Falvey, who missed the series with an injury after helping pitch and hit her team past Nainh Waiya in the quarterfinals.
Caitlin Case, Piper Martin and Natalie Williams hit safely for the Jackets in game one. Martin slugged a double in game two and the team also got base hits from Terra Vining and Molly Williamson in the loss.
Stringer moves on to face either Myrtle or West Union next week in the championship series at the University of Southern Mississippi.
