Three Loyd Star senior baseball players, Eli Thornton, Mason Smith, and Kayne Case were recently recognized prior to a home baseball game. The trio were the only seniors on the roster for coach Jared Britt and they helped the Hornets to finish 15-13 overall which included a 2-1 series loss in the opening round of the MHSAA 2A playoffs to defending state champion St. Andrew’s Episcopal.
