Brookhaven Academy sweeps Bowling Green School to end season

The 2025 baseball season finished up at Brookhaven Academy this week with a three game sweep of Bowling Green School. The Cougars finish the year wit a 11-17 record and a five-game winning streak, which included a sweep of Bowling Green (14-0, 12-0, 7-0).

Senior Luke Simmons pitched the win in game one on Wednesday, a 12-0 victory for BA. Simmons gave up one hit and struck out six while walking one.

Freshman Case Simmons and junior Walt Smith doubled in that win while Tucker Tarver tripled, and Caleb Authement hit a home run.

Simmons is one of three seniors on the team, along with Liam Magee and Carter Case. Both sophomores, Tarver had three RBIs in the win and Authement had five.

Magee pitched the first four innings of game two on Wednesday and was then relieved by his classmate, Case. Magee struck out two and gave up no hits. Case gave up one hit and struck out five Buccaneers.

Carter Case had three RBIs in game two and Tarver also drove in three runs.

Smith pitched the series opener on Monday in Franklinton, Louisiana. He struck out four and gave up one hit. Sophomore Nic Cline had two doubles on Monday and Smith had one as well. Cline finished the night with six RBIs.
