The Brookhaven School District announced on Monday that Mandy Vinson has been named the next Athletic Director at Brookhaven High School.
The move is a promotion for Vinson, who had previously been serving as an assistant athletic director since the 2020-2021 school year.
Vinson will take on the duties of AD along with serving as an assistant principal at the school. She will also stay in her longtime role as head softball coach at Brookhaven High.
Vinson was a standout softball player at Brookhaven High herself, before going on to play at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
“Coach Vinson brings not only a deep passion for athletics but also a true commitment to our students, staff, and community,” said Brookhaven School District Superintendent Dr. Roderick Henderson in the announcement of the hire. “Her energy, clear vision for the future of Brookhaven athletics, and her proven ability to work collaboratively with others make her the perfect choice to lead our programs forward.”
