Brookhaven Academy alum Thompson tabbed MACC Player of the Week

Brookhaven Academy product Caston Thompson has been absolutely mashing the ball for the No. 2 ranked Pearl River Community College Wildcats.

Thompson’s molten bat earned him MACCC Player of the Week honors recently after his hot streak that included going 7-of-11 with a .6t36 batting average. A Nicholls State University signee, he launched three home runs and one double while driving in nine runs and extending his hitting streak to 11 games.

A redshirt sophomore who sat out his first season with an injury in Poplarville, the 6-foot-3, 235-pound Thompson leads the MACCC in batting average at .403 on the season. He is also tied for first in the league in home runs (11) and is tied for second in RBIs (46).
