BHS tennis preparing for another run at upcoming MHSAA state tourneys

The perennial title contending tennis program from Brookhaven High is gearing up for the upcoming MHSAA 5A tennis tournaments in Vicksburg.

Action starts on Monday, April 14 with the conclusion of the 5A Team State Tournament. The 5A semifinals will be held that morning at 8 a.m., with the finals slated to start around 12:30 p.m. later that day.

Brookhaven High has cruised into the semifinals with two dominant wins over Gautier High in the first round and Vancleave High in the second round of bracket play.

As a team, BHS and coach Becky Green are 14-2 this season, with those losses coming to 7A Oak Grove and fellow 5A contender Stone High.

Green will also see a full allotment of 12 players from Brookhaven High competing in the state individual tournament that’ll take place at Halls Ferry Park in Vicksburg following the completion of the team tournament throughout the week.
