2025 Daily Leader All-Area Girls Soccer Team

Lilly Kate Channell, Wesson

A senior, Channell wrapped up an outstanding career playing soccer by again being a leader for coach Amanda Bergeron and the Cobras (7-8). This is the third time in her high school career for Channell to earn All-Area honors as she scored 11 goals to help lead Wesson to the MHSAA Class I playoffs this season. A multi-sport standout, Channell also plays volleyball and softball at Wesson along with being a member of the cheer team.

 

Isabella Iles, Brookhaven High

A sophomore, Iles stepped her game up and became a top scoring threat in 2025 for coach Dustin Bairfield and the Panthers (12-7). A repeat All-Area selection, Iles was second on the team this season with 18 goals and she was also in on 19 assists. She missed some of the early season games while helping pace BHS to a MHSAA 5A state championship in cross-country.

 

Maddie Henning, Brookhaven High

A sophomore, Henning was defensive cornerstone in the back half of the formation for Brookhaven High (12-7) and coach Dustin Bairfield. A repeat All-Area selection, Henning battled through an injury this season to often draw the toughest offensive threat from the Panther’s opposition. Henning and her linemates helped BHS post 11 shutouts this season.

 

Adi Holcomb, Loyd Star

A sophomore, Holcomb has already played tons of meaningful varsity soccer in her career suiting up for Loyd Star (16-5) and coach Jordan Lea. A repeat All-Area selection, she led the Hornets with 24 goals this season. Holcomb, who also starts in softball at Loyd Star, dished out 11 assists for a squad that reached the second round of the MHSAA Class I playoffs.

 

Anna Jones, West Lincoln

A senior, Jones was one of the main offensive threats in 2025 for West Lincoln (7-10) and first year head coach Dana Smith. Jones was the team leader of the Bears with 10 goals, and she was also in on four assists as West Lincoln reached the MHSAA Class I playoffs, losing a close opening round match 1-0 to McLaurin.

 

Eliza Smith, Brookhaven High

A sophomore, Smith is a repeat All-Area selection that paced the Panthers (12-7) and coach Dustin Bairfield in both goals and assists this season. Named her team’s MVP for a second straight year, Smith led the way at BHS with 26 goals in 19 games. A versatile player that can attack, man the midfield, or drop back to defense, she was also responsible for 15 assists on a Panther team that reached the 5A postseason.

 

Matti Claire Smith, Brookhaven Academy

A senior, Smith concluded her long varsity career for the Cougars (17-5-2) and coach Alex Brown by signing a letter of intent to play soccer next season at Southwest Mississippi Community College. Smith led the Cougars in gametime this season, logging 1,641 minutes on the pitch for a BA squad that reached the semifinals of the MAIS Division II playoffs.

 

Samantha Reed, Loyd Star

A sophomore, Reed is already a seasoned veteran playing goalkeeper during her career for the Hornets (16-5) and coach Jordan Lea. A repeat All-Area selection, Reed made 78 saves and allowed just 22 goals in 1,180 minutes between the pipes. Reed was part of 13 shutouts and gave up two goals in Region 7-Class I competition.

 

Chloe Rodriquez, Loyd Star

A senior, Rodriguez stepped into an even larger leadership role in 2025 for coach Jordan Lea and the Hornet (16-5) defensive formation. A repeat All-Area selection, Rodriquez has signed to continue her career at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit. After moving to a more forward position this season, Rodriquez responded with 22 goals and five assists in her final season at Loyd Star.

 

Susanna Tate, Brookhaven Academy

A junior, Tate has grown into an important part of the midfield alignment for Brookhaven Academy (17-5-2) and coach Alex Brown. Tate was in on five goals and had nine assists for a Brookhaven Academy team that won its MAIS Division II district. Tate also started at point guard for the Cougars in basketball during her junior season.
