2025 Daily Leader Boys Soccer All-Area Team

Grey Boyd, Lawrence County
A senior, Boyd played an integral role as a goal scorer for first year Lawrence County coach Gage Daley and the Cougars (8-8-1). A repeat All-Area selection, the speedy Boyd led Lawrence County with 13 goals and also chipped in four assists for a Cougar squad that made the first round of the MHSAA 4A playoffs.
Walker Brady, Bogue Chitto
A junior, Brady was once again a leader in the midfield and as an attacking forward for coach Kris Smith and the Bobcats (5-12) in 2025. Brady, whose two older brothers were soccer standouts at Brookhaven High, led the Bobcats with 18 goals and was also in on eight assists for a MHSAA Class I playoff team.
Trace Garrett, Brookhaven Academy
A sophomore, Garrett provided a physical presence in the midfield for coach Alex Brown and the Cougars (8-10). Garrett finished second on the team in minutes played with 1,418. A running back for the Cougar football team, he scored three goals and was in on six assists while also being picked for the MAIS Futures All-Star game in soccer.
Jamisyn Kelly, Loyd Star
A junior, Kelly used his speed, athleticism and dogged determinism to make a big impact as a defender for coach Jordan Lea and the Hornets (17-2-2). At 6-foot-, 160-pounds, Kelly has also shown he can get involved offensively, as he scored nine goals and was in on four assists this season. He has been picked to play in the upcoming MAC Class I All-Star match.
Reeves Lindley, Brookhaven Academy
A sophomore, Lindley stepped up to become a big-time goal scoring threat for Brookhaven Academy head coach Alex Brown and the Cougars (8-10). Lindley, who also kicked for BA in football, scored 33 goals and was in on three assists this season. He scored 30 more goals as a sophomore than he did the prior season.
Christian Cayax-Marin, Wesson
A senior, Cayax-Marin is a repeat Daily Leader All-Area selection after another standout season for coach Hank Jordan and the Cobras (5-7-1) in his position at midfield. Cayax-Marin scored six goals and was in on eight assists for a Wesson squad that reached the MHSAA Class I postseason.
Mason Smith, Loyd Star
A senior, Smith was a key leader and captain for coach Jordan Lea and the Hornets (17-2-2) during his final season suiting up for Loyd Star. Smith finished second on the team with 13 goals and was first on the squad with 16 assists. He was also tabbed after the season to play in the Central Mississippi All-Star game following his senior campaign.
John Sones, Brookhaven High
A senior, Sones was part of a strong back end for the Brookhaven High (13-6-1) defense and coach Aaron Ayers in 2025. The 6-foot, 170-pound Sones helped lead a Brookhaven High defense that was responsible for seven shutouts in his senior season as BHS once again reached the opening round of MHSAA 5A bracket play.
Kaleb Waldrop, Loyd Star
A junior, Waldrop exploded on the scene to be one of the top goal scorers in Southwest Mississippi for the Region 7-Class I winning Hornets (17-2-2) and coach Jordan Lea. Waldrop finished with 31 goals and 10 assists as he scored 21 more goals this season than he did last year. Waldrop scored a season high five goals in a 6-0 win over MHSAA 8A Neshoba Central for the Hornets.
Markham Williams, Brookhaven High
A senior, Williams was a guy that Brookhaven High (13-6-1) head coach Aaron Ayers could deploy in lots of different spots with his size and strength. A three-time All-Area selection, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Williams scored eight goals and dished out 12 assists from his midfield position for the Panthers in helping BHS reach the MHSAA 5A postseason.
