The West Lincoln girls’ basketball team defeated Bogue Chitto 49-38 on Friday in the Region 7-2A tournament championship game. The tournament title was the seventh in the last eight years for the West Lincoln program.

The Bears beat Puckett 55-35 on Monday in the MHSAA 2A first round and will host Richton on Friday at 6 p.m. in the second round. West Lincoln junior guard Chloe Sterling was named Region MVP and her teammates Kylie Jarancik, Emma Quin, and Maggy James were named All-Region.
