The Bogue Chitto boys’ basketball team defeated Loyd Star 63-42 on Friday in the Region 7-2A tournament championship game. It was a second-straight region tournament title for a BC team that finished as MHSAA 2A runners-up last season.

Bogue Chitto coach Marc Howard was named Region 7-2A Coach of the Year while senior guard Devonta “Bam” Thompson was picked as Region MVP. Senior wing Noah Magee was named Region Offensive MVP, senior guard Shakell Jenkins was named Region Defensive MVP and were both named to the All-Region team along with forwards Randy Crisler and Tripp McCaffrey.
