Wesson senior pitcher Wyatt Garrett is headed to Summit, as he signed on Wednesday with the Southwest Mississippi Community College Bears. Garrett was a standout on the mound as a junior for the Cobras, posting a 1.09 ERA in 38 innings. Garrett, who earned Daily Leader All-Area honors and All-Region accolades, struck out 55 batters. He was also a standout on both sides of the ball for Wesson football during his career. His father, longtime high school baseball and football coach Josh Garrett, was a star pitcher during his career at Lawrence County, Copiah-Lincoln CC, Southern Miss, and Belhaven.
