Year number three for Copiah-Lincoln Community College head baseball coach Adam Chamblee starts Friday in Wesson.
The Wolves are scheduled to host Southwest Tennessee Community College at 5 p.m. on Sullivan Field.
The Wolves and the Saluqis from SW TN will also play a doubleheader on Saturday, with first pitch coming at 12 p.m. in the opener.
CLCC went 27-25 last season and made the postseason where they were eliminated by Meridian CC in the Region 23 Tournament. The Wolves finished sixth overall in the MACCC during the regular season.
Sophomore pitcher Judson Griffin, a Brookhaven Academy product, will be one of the key pieces on the mound for Chamblee and his staff.
Assisting Chamblee this season are Kyle Flessner and George Sala. Flessner comes to Wesson after being an assistant for East Central CC during its recent run of success. Sala has most recently been a student assistant at the University of Memphis while finishing his undergraduate degree.
Griffin will be joined on the roster by his younger brother, freshman Avery Griffin. Like his older brother, Avery Griffin graduated from Brookhaven Academy and he’ll see action as a pitcher and infielder this season.
There are 21 true freshmen on the 32 man roster for Chamblee and his assistant coaches.
Two players with local ties are redshirt freshman outfielder Dylan Wesson and sophomore outfielder Tucker Jones.
Wesson is the son of former CLCC tennis standout Stacey Fitzsimmons Wessson and had his freshman season cut short last year after an injury.
Jones is the son of former Co-Lin catcher Mark Jones and is one of the leading returnees for the Wolves in 2025.
The 6-foot-5 Wesson stood out last season as one of the biggest players on the roster. This season the Wolves have a taller group in 2025, with 10 players measuring 6-foot-1 or over.
The Wolves will also have a four-game series home series next weekend against St. Charles CC (Missouri), with one game on Friday, two games on Saturday and one game on Sunday.
