A great soccer season by the Brookhaven Academy girls’ squad that ended in the semifinals of the MAIS Class II bracket was further celebrated recently when the school saw four players named to the MAIS Class II All-State team. Coached by Alex Brown and Brannon Dickerson, the team finished 17-5-2. All-State selections are junior Kyndra Quinn, senior Ava Calcote, freshman Camille Calcote, and senior Mattie Claire Smith. Quinn led the team with 45 goals in her first season at BA after transferring from Bogue Chitto. Ava Calcote and Smith were longtime defensive stalwarts for the program and were both named MAIS All-Stars, with Smith signing recently to continue her career next year at Southwest Mississippi CC. Camille Calcote finished second on the team with 19 goals in 2024 while also chipping in 10 assists for BA.
