The Daily Leader Offensive Player of the Week: BA’s Revere

Braden Revere, Brookhaven Academy

Senior, Quarterback

It’s a shame that Brookhaven Academy quarterback Braden Revere only got one season to run the split-back veer offense used by first year head coach Ryan Ross. The senior signal caller worked hard to make the right reads and know when to keep and when to give the ball off in the ground game for the Cougars.

Last week in a 23-7 win at Amite School Center, Revere and the rushing attack were working in sync as he rushed three times for 57 yards and one score. For his play, Revere has been named The Daily Leader Offensive Player of the Week.

Revere, junior Walt Smith, and sophomore Trace Garrett were the go-to guys with the ball in their hands this season and on Friday for the Cougar offense. Both Smith and Garrett scored a touchdown apiece in the win at ASC.

Revere ends his senior season with eight rushing scores, but most of all, his leadership will be missed along with that of his senior classmates Jon Mark Beasley, Austin Tanksley, Nathan Poole, Asher Newman, CJ Chevralier, and Will Thomas Calcote.
