Brookhaven High School quarterback Jaden Allen is growing in confidence in each game and the results on the field are showing that. After battling injury throughout his freshman season, Allen has helped showcase an improved passing game for the Panthers offense. On Friday in a 42-7 blowout of Franklin County, Allen accounted for five touchdowns via the air and ground.

For his standout play, Allen has been named The Daily Leader Offensive Player of the Week. Everyone in Brookhaven has known how fast Allen has been from an early age. As an eighth grader at Alexander Junior High, he won first place in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash at the MHSAA Middle School State Track Meet. Last year as a freshman, he was part of the 4×100-meter relay team that finished first at the 5A state meet and helped push the Panthers to a state track and field title.

In the win against FC, Allen carried the ball nine times for 138 yards and three scores. His passing numbers were 4-of-10 for 94 yards and two more touchdowns. Brookhaven High hosts Pearl High this week on King Field.
