Seated with Hodges are his brother Wyatt, mother Sherri and father Bradley. Prior to pitching in Poplarville, Hodges suffered an arm injury that limited him as a freshman. He struck out six batters in just six appearances for a PRCC team that qualified for the NJCAA World Series. Now healthy, Hodges was strong in his fall appearances for PRCC and coach Michael Avalon. In a PRCC release announcing the signing, Hodges said inking with the Bulldogs was the culmination of a life-long goal. “Last year I had kind of a down year so for me to be doing this right now is really exciting for me and my family,” said Hodges. “I think it has (sunk in) a little bit but some days I’m just like ‘Man, I’m actually doing this.’ I’ve grown up wanting to play Division I baseball my whole life and it’s finally here and it’s exciting.”
