Lady Bears roar past Wesson

WESSON- The West Lincoln Lady traveled to Wesson Friday night to face the Lady Cobras. The Lady Bears came from behind to beat the Lady Cobras with a final score of 10-1.

The Lady Cobras will host West Marion and West Lincoln will play Brookhaven on Tuesday, April 14. Game time starts at 5 p.m. for both teams.

The Lady Bears came from behind and beat the Lady Cobras Friday night.

Lady Bear’s pitcher, Malori Hall, had nine strike outs, seven walks and assisted with one fielding out.

Top hitters for West Lincoln were Makennah Redd (RBI-2) with a double and two singles, Micah Redd (RBI-3) with a double and two single, and Malori Hall (RBI-1) with a double and a single. Layton Sills and Hanna Moak provided two singles apiece. Addie Spring, Millane Lewis and Anna Brooke Davis hit safely.

Top fielder for the Lady Bears was Anna Brook Davis with three outs on third base.

For the Lady Cobras, top hitters were Catherine Wilson with a double and a single, Harmoni Ashley with a double and Carrie McSweyn with two singles that brought in the only run for the Lady Cobras. Hitting safely were Amber Brinson and Kayla Britt.

Top Wesson fielder was Harmoni Ashley with 10 outs on first base. Starting pitcher, Amber Brinson, averaged one strikeout and one walk. Carrie McSweyn (0K, 1BB) also pitched in relief.

In junior varsity action, The Lady Cobras beat the Lady Bears with a final score of 5-0 Friday afternoon.

Katie McSweyn (3K, 0BB) and Mackenzie Dooley (0K, 2BB) collected the win for Wesson on the mound.

Megan Gerald pitched for West Lincoln and had one strikeout and six walks.

Sara Jane Doty led the Lady Bears at the plate with a single.

Riley Smith paced the Lady Cobras offense with a double. Shelbi Maxwell, Arie Douglas, Katie McSweyn and Baleigh Cothron hit safely.
