Search ongoing for missing Wesson man

An intensive search for a missing man in Copiah County started Thursday night and was continuing Friday afternoon, according to officials with the Wesson Volunteer Fire Department.

Agencies from Copiah County and beyond are joining forces in the search for Robert Lee Cain of 1184 Cain Road near Wesson, who has been missing since Tuesday.

Wesson volunteer firefighter Frank Newell said Friday he and 10-12 other members of the department were among those working the woods in the area in an attempt to find the man or clues to his location.

Newell and the department joined officials with the Pearl Fire Department; Rankin and Copiah County Emergency Management; Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks; the Mississippi Highway Patrol; and close to 75 officers in the search for the missing man.
