Majors begin tournament action, Friday
The Lincoln County Dixie Youth Baseball Majors American and National All-Stars begin playoff action Friday in the District Six double-elimination tournament in Bude.
The District Six Tournament will be held at Franklin County, on Leroy “Cowboy” Jones Memorial Field in Bude. The Tournament starts Friday and concludes on Tuesday with the championship contest.
The 11-and-12-year-old American and National All-Stars are preparing for their quest to make a appearance in the State Tournament, which will begin on July 17 in Mendenhall.
The tournament will have the Lincoln County Americans and Nationals, the Franklin County All-Stars, the Pine Hill All-Stars and the Natchez All-Stars battling to claim the top spot to advance to the State Tournament.
The Lincoln County Nationals will battle the Franklin County All-Stars Friday night at 7:30 p.m. The Lincoln County Americans will have a bye Friday, before starting their tournament run on Saturday as they face winner of the Lincoln County Nationals/Franklin County contest at 6 p.m.
The Pine Hill All-Stars kick off the tournament against the Natchez All-Stars in the opener, starting at 6 p.m.
