West Lincoln defeats Lawrence Co.

MONTICELLO – The West Lincoln Lady Bears knocked off the Lawrence County Lady Cougars 9-7 in Tuesday night softball action.

The Lady Bears (22-3, 6-0) will resume action Saturday as they prepare to host the Bogue Chitto Lady Bobcats for a varsity doubleheader, starting at 11 a.m.

W. Lincoln 9, Lawrence Co. 7 

Makennah Redd was the winning pitcher for West Lincoln with no strikeouts and four walks.

Barri Rogers suffered the setback for Lawrence Co. with no strikeouts and one walk.

Millane Lewis was the offensive leader at the plate for the Lady Bears with a double and a single. Makennah Redd, Peyton White, Layton Sills and Addie Spring provided a pair of singles each. Hitting safely were Micah Redd and Malori Hall.

Madison Hyde powered the Lady Cougars’ offense with a home run and a single. Tiera Collins contributed a double and a single. Cheyenne Long and Karli Bass ripped two singles each. Maddux Kirkland, Lexie Johnson, Jamie Martin and Callie Fortenberry hit safely.

In JV action,  Lawrence County defeated West Lincoln 6-3.

Jana Case and Demeshia Deer paced the Lady Bears at the plate with a double and a single apiece. McKenzie Pyles, Megan Gerald and Morgan Newman had a single each.
