Lady Jaguars tame Lawrence Co.

MONTICELLO – The North Pike Lady Jaguars captured a big district 12-2 win over the Lawrence County Lady Cougars Tuesday night in Region 6-4A softball action.

The victory basically puts the Lady Jags (7-3, 3-1) in the driver seat to clinch the Region crown. The Lady Cougars (9-4, 2-1) are currently in second place in the race.

North Pike 12, Lawrence Co. 2 

In a tough, heated rivalry, the Lady Jaguars came out ready to play and avenge an earlier loss they suffered to the Lady Cougars in Summit.

North Pike came out hitting and manage to outhit Lawrence County 13-4 to claim a 12-2 win.

Whitney Howell was the winning pitcher for North Pike with no strikeouts and one walk.

Barri Rogers suffered the setback for Lawrence County with one strikeout and no walks.

Rickera Martin and Sarah Brock powered the Lady Jags’ offense with a home run and a single each. Jordan Fitzgerald contributed a home run. Baylee Brant provided a double and a single. Skye James and Linley Smith ripped a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Whitney Howell and Jami Spears.

Madison Hyde was the top offensive hitter at the plate for Lawrence County with a double and two singles. Jamie Martin hit a single.

In junior action,  North Pike drilled Lawrence County 15-5.

Mary Kate Bates tossed the win for the Lady Jaguars.

Skye James sparked North Pike’s offense with a home run and a single. Brianna Rimes, Jenna Brock, Reanna Ivey and Mary Kate Bates fueled the flames with a pair of singles each. Alexiuna Dunn and Avery Price hit a double apiece.
