Lady Bears win one of two in tourney

The West Lincoln Lady Bears saw their unbeaten season come to an end Saturday morning in Ole Brook’s softball tournament at Hansel King Sportsplex.

The Lady Bears lost to Warren Central 9-7 in the opener but rallied back to win the second game over Florence 14-4.

West Lincoln (18-1, 5-0) will resume action Monday as they prepare to visit Wesson to take on the Wesson Lady Cobras in a make-up game. Junior varsity action start at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6 p.m.

Warren Central 9, West Lincoln 7 

Megan Stewart pitched the win for Warren Central with two strikeouts and no walks.

Makennah Redd suffered the Lady Bears first set back of the season on the mound with no strikeouts and no walks.

Hanna Moak was the offensive leader at the plate for the Lady Bears with two home runs. Makennah Redd also hit a home run. Alli Mullins and Peyton White contributed a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Micah Redd, Malori Hall, Layton Sills, Brianna Fauver and Anna Brook Davis.

Morgan Stewart paced the Warren Central offense with a double and two singles. Brooke Patterson, Katie Channell, Ashley Coley and Kasy Centeze provided two singles apiece. Arraiyah Fultz and Sarah Kate Smith ripped a double each. Lauren Brooks, Megan Stewart and Darby Gain hit safely.

West Lincoln 14, Florence 4 

Makennah Redd (0K, 4BB) helped her Lady Bears rebound quickly in the second tossing the victory.

Hope Herrington suffered the lost for the Lady Eagles with three strikeouts and no walks.

Hanna Moak sparked West Lincoln’s offense with two home runs and a single. Makennah Redd provided a home run as well. Layton Sill contributed a home run and a single. Fauver had two singles. Mullins hit a double. Hitting safely were Micah Redd, Lewis and White.

Amber Corn and Marcie Smith directed Florence at the plate with a pair of singles. Madison McCaleb, Chlor Barner and Tatum Walker hit safely.
