North Pike Lady Jaguars collect three wins in weekend action

SUMMIT – The North Pike Lady Jaguars captured three wins in fastpitch softball action last weekend. The Lady Jags blanked the Petal Lady Panthers 7-0 Friday night.

In Saturday action, North Pike edged George County 2-1 and shutout Picayune 5-0.

The Lady Jags (10-6, 6-0), coached by Sonya Wallace, will be in action Friday as they host the McComb Lady Tigers for a Region 7-4A test. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6:30 p.m.

North Pike 7, Petal 0

Madison Bigner was the winning pitcher for North Pike in Friday contest against Petal as she collected six strikeouts and allowed only two walks.

Bigner also powered the Lady Jags’ offense with two doubles. Janiah Talbert contributed a double and a single. Sarah Brock, Madison Bates and Jenna Brock provided two singles apiece. Jami Spears had a double. Hitting safely were Jordan Fitzgerald, Rickera Martin and Baylee Bryant.

North Pike 2, George Co. 1 

In Saturday’s first contest, Madison Bigner was the winning hurdler on the rubber for the Lady Jaguars with four strikeouts and two walks.

Madison Bates was the top slugger at the plate for North Pike with a double and a single. Sarah Brock, Janiah Talbert, Jordan Fitzgerald, Rickera Martin and Baylee Bryant.

North Pike 5, Picayune 0 

The Lady Jaguars relied on a duel threat to blanked Picayune last Saturday.

Bigner collected her third straight victory pitching for North Pike as she struck out two batters and allowed only two walks against Picayune.

Sarah Brock paced the Lady Jags attack at the plate with three singles. Bigner had a double and a single. Martin provided two singles. Janiah Talbert and Madison Bates hit a single each.
