Enterprise wins two in Columbia Tournament

COLUMBIA – The Enterprise Jackets captured two wins in the Columbia Academy Holiday tournament – they defeated the Ben’s Ford Eagles 78-60 Monday night and edged the Salem Wildcats 76-74 Tuesday night.

Tournament action continues today for Enterprise as the Lady Jackets and the Jackets battle the Columbia Academy Cougars in the semifinals. The girls will tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m.

Enterprise 76, Salem 74 

The Wildcats mauled the Jackets in the first period as Salem captured a 23-10 lead. In the second period, the Jackets answered with a 22-13 run to cut into Salem’s lead 36-32 at halftime.

In the second half, both teams came out firing on all cylinders as Enterprise managed to outscore Salem 44-38 in the final two quarters to clip the Wildcats 76-74.

Dewayne Pendleton pumped in a game-high 39 points to lead the Jackets. Darren Richardson contributed 14 points. Jontavious Smith provided nine points. Austin Carter and Zach Hodges scored six points apiece. Cade Feltus had four points.

Salem had three players to score in double figures as Leonardrick Riley and Julius Faulks poured in 19 points apiece to lead the Wildcats. Jaylen Toney netted 16 points. Cameron Prince scored nine points.

Enterprise 78, Ben’s Ford 60 

In Monday’s contest, the Jackets jumped on the Eagles early in the first period to secure a 24-10 lead. In the second quarter, Ben’s Ford outscored Enterprise 23-17 to cut into the Jackets’ lead 41-33 at halftime.

In the second half, Enterprise overpowered Ben’s Ford with a 37-27 run in the final two quarters to secure the win.

Dewayne Pendleton powered the Jackets’ attack with a 33-point effort. Jontavious Smith, Cade Feltus and Zach Hodges chipped in with 12 points apiece. Darren Richardson netted five points. Peytin Jergins and Ryan Amic scored two points each.

Daniel Pittman and Teramien Slocum were the offensive leaders for the Eagles with 20 points each.
