West Lincoln crushes South Pike
MAGNOLIA – The West Lincoln Bears finished the regular season with a 11-1 victory over the South Pike Eagles Tuesday night.
“It was good to finish the regular season with a win,” said West Lincoln coach David Gilbert. “Landon Lynch got his first start of the year and did a great job on the mound. It was great to see him throw strikes and earn his first win in high school. It was also great to see our hitters jump out to a big lead early. Overall, I was pleased with our effort, but we must regroup and prepare ourselves for a tougher test Friday against Mize.”
The Bears (12-9, 6-4) will begin their best-of-three playoff series in Class 2A action Friday. West Lincoln will travel to Mize Friday for a 7 p.m. start. The Bears will return home Saturday to host Mize at 2 p.m.; if a game three is needed it will be in Mize Monday.
