Loyd Star secures split with Enterprise

Loyd Star and Enterprise captured a split decision in Thursday night junior high basketball action at Loyd Star gymnasium.

In junior high action, Loyd Star crushed Enterprise in girls and boys action. The Lady Hornets clobbered the Lady Jackets 38-12. In the boys’ action, Loyd Star dominated Enterprise 67-40.

In seventh grade action, the Enterprise Jackets and Lady Jackets swept Loyd Star as the Lady Jackets edge the Lady Hornets 15-13. In the boys’ game, the Jackets defeated the Hornets 29-25 in overtime.

Loyd Star resumes action Monday as they prepare to host the West Lincoln Bears for four games, starting at 4 p.m.

Enterprise returns to action Monday as they host Bogue Chitto for four games, starting at 4 p.m.

Loyd Star 38, Enterprise 12 

Abigail Smith was the top shooter for the Lady Hornets with 12 points. Andrea Butler contributed 8 points. Christie Patterson netted 5 points.

Lindsey Mason was the leader for the Lady Jackets with 3 points.

Loyd Star 67, Enterprise 40 

Dane Smith powered the Hornets with 25 points. Zabien Price provided 13 points. Brent Cade added 12 points and Dylan Case had 9 points.

JaDawian Allen and Payton Jergins were the top scorers for the Jackets with 11 points apiece. Mitchell Poole contributed 8 points.

Enterprise 15, Loyd Star 13 

Kristen Walker was the offensive leader for the Lady Jackets with 6 points. Gracie Knight scored 4 points.

Taylor Smith and Whitney Watts led the Lady Hornets with 4 points each.

Enterprise 29, Loyd Star 25 OT 

Dylan Vaughn netted 15 points to lead the Jackets. Wyatt Burns provided 6 points.

Reese DeHart directed Loyd Star’s charge with 12 points. Tanner Watts netted 8 points.
