DAILY LEADER / JULIA V. PENDLEY / Brookhaven Milling has served the community for over 60 years. Its expansion will allow the company to continue serving for many years to come.

Brookhaven Milling has torn down their old building and a new is on its way up.

Brookhaven Milling is one of the few businesses left in what used to be a bustling industrial district, and co-owners Brett Douchard and Chad Vaughn plan to continue being around for a while.

The new building will allow more warehouse space to help facilitate the manufacturing aspects of the business. The new building will also house their retail operation. Douchard said the company provides animal feeds, seeds, fertilizers and farm and vet supplies. Some of the products are resale, but they do manufacture custom feed.

“It’s a big service to the tri-county area,” Vaughn said. “There’s not a lot of people that do what we do, as far as custom feed.”

Vaughn said Brookhaven Milling works to serve the community by not only providing a service to deer hunters and farmers, but also by providing 10 to 15 jobs throughout the year.

The larger warehouse space will allow the company to also update equipment as space is cleared up. The construction is expected to be completed in approximately three weeks.

“We hope to provide an even better service with the expansion,” Vaughn said.
