Last week, Rep. Bobby Moak (D-Bogue Chitto), Leader of the House Democratic Caucus, served as a panelist for the bi-partisan Congressional Caucus in Washington, D.C. The Caucus is co-chaired by Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and Rep. Joe Heck (R-NV). Other legislators in attendance included Rep. Frank Lobionodo (R-NJ) and Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.

The panel was assembled to discuss Internet gaming, banking regulations, taxation and issues relating to terrorism and terrorism funding sources.

Other panelists included Tom Ballance (president of Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa), John Maddox (vice-president of government relations, Caesars Hotels and Casinos), Mark Lipparelli (former chairman of Nevada Gaming Control Board), Vernon Kirk (director of Delaware Lottery) and Rebecca Goldsmith (assistant director of Delaware Lottery).

Moak said, “It was a great honor to serve on this panel with national industry leaders to discuss matters facing the gaming industry and its employees. These issues are important to Mississippians and loom large as we determine how to improve our state’s economy.”
