BSW wins two in opening debut
MCCOMB — The Brookhaven Southern Wildcats roared past the McComb Iron Horse 14-6 in 9-and-10 action in TNT Football action last weekend. In 8-under action, Brookhaven defeated McComb 12-6. In 11-12 year old action, the Ironhorse blanked the Wildcats 40-0.
BSW resumes action Saturday at King Field, starting at 10 a.m. with the 8-under team hosting the Magnolia Hurricanes. The second and third games start at 11 and 12:30.
BSW 14, McComb 6
Kenneth Dixon was the offensive leader with 105 yards rushing. He rushed in a 80-yard touchdown. Kermit Sartin was the second leading rusher with 100-yards and scored on a 50-yard touchdown run. Malachi Clark contributed to the ground attack with 50-yards.
Defensively, Troy Davis Jr., Clark and Sartin led the team with five tackles each. Nathan Lewis provided four stops. Jimmy John Jr. recovered a fumble.
BSW 12, McComb
Markel Smith powered the Wildcats offensive attack with 160 yards rushing and scored two 50-yard touchdowns.
Defensively, Smith also dominated on the other side of the ball with nine tackles and had a fumble recovery. Daylon Barton contributed five tackles. Seth Butler recovered a fumble.
