Lady Cats crush Terry

TERRY – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats thumped the Terry Lady Bulldogs 11-0 Tuesday in fastpitch softball action.

“The girls played really well,” said BC Scott Leggett. “We managed to jump on Terry early in the game to collect the win. Alana Nettles did a great job in the circle for us tonight.”

The Lady Cats (8-2) will resume action Thursday when they host the Salem Lady Wildcats for their first division test of the season. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6:15 p.m.

Lady Cats 11, Lady Bulldogs 0 

The Lady Cats dominated the Lady Bulldogs in a five-inning contest, scoring seven runs in the top of the first inning. Bogue Chitto would add one run in the third inning and three more in the fourth inning to clinch the victory.

Alana Nettles pitched the one-hit shutout for the Lady Cats. She struck out seven batters and allowed only one walk.

Terrah Nelson powered the Lady Cats’ scoring onslaught with a double and a single. Codi Leggett contributed a triple and Christian Black had a double. Cherie Savoie, Baileigh Jackson, Karly Leake, Reagan Kirkland and Nettles hit safely.

In junior varsity action, Bogue Chitto defeated Terry 6-2.

Gracie Guynes was the winning pitcher for BC with two strikeouts and four walks.

Stevie Montgomery paced the Lady Cats’ offense with a double. Kayci Beth Wallace and Alece Nettles had a single each.
