Peavey’s homer lifts Braves past Grambling

NEW ORLEANS – Paced by Scottie Peavey’s towering 410-foot homer, the Alcorn State Braves defeated Grambling State 15-10.

The contest, which was broadcast on MLB Network as part of the Urban Invitational highlighted a big day for the Braves.

Peavey, an Ole Brook product and a Alcorn State senior right fielder hit his first home run of the season in the bottom of the sixth. The blast went out over the University of New Orleans ‘Blue Monster’ in centerfield.

The Alcorn State Braves will travel to Mississippi State Tuesday for a 4 p.m. contest. The Braves return home to host Jackson State in Lorman on Saturday, Feb 28.
