BOGUE CHITTO – The West Lincoln Lady Bears climbed back into the win column Tuesday afternoon with a 10-0 victory over the Enterprise Yellow Jackets in Lincoln County softball tournament action at Bogue Chitto.

“I was very pleased with the girls’ effort,” said West Lincoln coach Andrew Redd. “We played a lot better today than we did yesterday. This was a total team effort both offensively and defensively.”

The Lady Jackets (1-5) will return to action Friday as they prepare to travel to Walthall County to take on the Salem Lady Wildcats. Junior varsity action begins at 3 p.m., followed by varsity action at 4 p.m.

The Lady Bears (3-2) will take the rest of the week off to enjoy spring break, before returning to action Tuesday as they host Region 6-2A foe the East Marion Lady Eagles. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by varsity action at 6 p.m.

West Lincoln 10, Enterprise 0 

The Lady Bears came out strong in the first inning and quickly set the tone of the contest by pushing across three runs to take 3-0 lead.

West Lincoln added another run in the fourth inning and provided a six run blast in the fifth inning to invoke the mercy rule.

The Lady Jackets threatened on several occasions to rally back throughout the game, but West Lincoln’s defense managed to hold strong in the shut out.

Micah Redd was the winning pitcher for the Lady Bears with five strikeouts and two walks.

Carlee Nations absorbed the setback for the Lady Jackets with three strikeouts and seven walks.

Redd led the offensive charge for West Lincoln with a double and a single. Brianna Fauver ripped a double. Bentley Sills contributed two singles. Hitting safely were Hanna Moak, Destiny Allen, Malori Hall, Layton Sills and Peyton White.

Naley Nations, Ashley Boyd and Nicole Rutland were the top hitters for Enterprise with a single apiece.
