Lady Cats clip Enterprise

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats and Enterprise Lady Jackets provided an exciting game for their softball fans in the nightcap of the Lincoln County softball tournament Monday night.
The Lady Cats (4-0) managed to clip the Lady Jackets with secured a 6-3 victory and advance to play the Loyd Star Lady Hornets for the Lincoln County crown today at 7 p.m..
Enterprise (1-4) will take on the West Lincoln Lady Bears today at 5 p.m.

Bogue Chitto and Enterprise came out hot in the first two innings of action as the Lady Cats struck first by grabbing a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
The Lady Jackets answered in the top of the second inning and tied the game at 2-all.
BC regained the lead in the bottom of the third inning by pushing across one run to claim a 3-2 lead and continued to increase their lead by scoring one run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Enterprise scored their last run of the contest in the top of the sixth inning.
“The girls played a good game,” said BC coach Scott Leggett. “Enterprise came ready to play and fought hard. We had our chances to blow the game wide open, but Enterprise made some great defensive play to keep the game close.”
Alana Nettles was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cats with six strikeouts and six walks.
Haley Nation absorbed the setback for the Lady Jackets with three strikeouts and five walks.
Mattie Avants, Daley Roberts and Mallory Allen paced BC’s offense with a pair of singles. Alexis Givens, Colby Kirkland and Nettles hit safely.
Carlie Nations, Kinsey Dahlin, Skylar Dahlin and Haley Nations were the top hitters for Enterprise with a single each.
The girls came out strong and played hard,” said Enterprise coach Ashley Jones. “We are a very young softball team, but the girls are working hard to keep improving from game to game.”
