With snow and sleet still blanketing the ground, the Brookhaven area is under a hard freeze warning Tuesday night through noon Wednesday. Lows are forecast to be 10 to 15 degrees Tuesday night with north winds at 5 to 10 mph resulting in wind chill readings of 5 to 10 degrees.

Wednesday will be sunny with highs in the upper 30s. Despite the slight warming, the north winds of 5 to 10 mph will combine to yield wind chill readings of 0 to 5 degrees in Wednesday morning. Wednesday night will be mostly clear with lows of 15 to 20 degrees and wind chill readings of 9 to 14, based on east winds around 5 mph that will become southeast after midnight.

Thursday will be much warmer with highs in the lower 50s under sunny skies.
