Bulldog kickers exterminate Loyd Star

The Franklin County Bulldogs boys’ soccer team stretched their regular season win streak to 30 games with an 8-0 win over Loyd Star Friday night.

The streak, which dates back to last year, is a milestone for the Bulldogs and one coach Jeff Long has helped pilot in his second year at the helm.

Franklin High (10-0, 2-0) used two goals apiece from Zayne Mullins, Kyle McCormick and Greg Queen to set the tone in a clash of district soccer rivals.

Kemo Verdin and Hoby Mullins added lone goals, while Kane Gillian chipped in with three assists.

McCormick also added an assist for the Bulldogs, who are one of the top squads in 3A/2A/1A ranks.

The Lady Bulldogs (10-0, 2-0) got a solid 6-0 win behind a two-goal effort from senior Si’Edriq Middleton.

Krislyn Kent, Jaden Long, and Shelby Smith added a goal each.

Jourdan Cummings and Kelsi Barron each added two assists. Macy Ziskin posted the shutout.

FCHS travels to Wesson Thursday for a contest at 4 p.m.
