Bears, Lady Wave secure split

NATCHEZ – The West Lincoln’s boys and Cathedral’s girls captured wins in junior high action Thursday night.
In the girls’ game, Cathedral rolled to a 28-11 victory. Kylie Johnson paced the Lady Green Wave with 13 points. Jana Case led West Lincoln with five points.
In boys’ action, West Lincoln’s boys raced out to a 23-9 lead at halftime and cruised to a 41-22 win over Cathedral. Landon Lynch provided 12 points and Adam Martinez added 10 points for the Bears.
The two schools played a pair of seventh grade games, which consisted of one 15:00 half for each game.
The Lady Green Wave prevailed 23-2 over the Lady Bears, while West Lincoln’s boys beat Cathedral 12-9. Garrison Coffey was the top scorer for West Lincoln with six points.
West Lincoln’s junior high will host Loyd Star Monday night for four games beginning at 4 p.m.
