Loyd Star’s basketball teams claimed a pair of junior high victories over West Lincoln Tuesday at Loyd Star. The Lady Hornets edged West Lincoln 32-29, powered by Katie West’s 15 points. Julecca Smith added 12 points.

The Lady Bears also got 10 points from Megan Gerald.

In the boys’ game, Loyd Star beat West Lincoln 36-20,led by forward Cade Hodges’s 14 points. Dane chipped in 12 points.

The Bears was led by Donterrius’s six points. Landon Lynch and Garrison Coffey added four points apiece.

Seventh Grade Results 

In the seventh grade boys game, Loyd Star defeated the Bears 21-19, directed by Dane Smith’s 11 points.

West Lincoln got seven points from Javion Lewis.

In the girls game, the Lady Hornets prevailed 20-13 as Christi Patterson scored seven points.

The Lady Bears got 11 points from Haley Moak.
