NATCHEZ – The West Lincoln Bears captured the 3K cross country meet Thursday night at Natchez Cathedral as Jason Watts directed the win with a first-place finish with a time of 19:04.

Also participating were the teams from Natchez High, Brookhaven, McComb, Jefferson County and Cathedral.

West Lincoln’s varsity girls were led by Lexis Leggett, who finished 10th place with a time of 20:43 in a 2.5K run.

Aiding the Lady Bears were Georganna Allen, 22:30 and Skylar Hall at 25:24.

West Lincoln participated in the Co-Lin’s homecoming run Saturday.

Jason Watts finished in first place with a time of 19:42 in the 3K run. Jonathan Mathis came in second with a time of 28:12.

Lexis Leggett helped the Lady Bears placed second in the 3K run. Her time was 19:42.

Georganna Allen finished behind Leggett with a time of 26:58. Skylar Hall posted a time of 31:12 and Megan Gerald at 32:30.

The Bears and Lady Bears resume action Saturday at the Madison Trail Run at Madison Middle School beginning at 9:30 a.m.
